SENIOR PORTRAITS 101...

AND WELCOME...to the initial edition of the your blog for all things Senior Portraits. We are so very excited about bringing information about the Senior Portrait Experience to you through this forum, to help make your experience the most memorable and fun it can be. We'll be publishing new blogs once or twice a week; each issue focusing on new and different aspects of the Senior Portrait Experience. Because we are just getting into Senior Portrait Season for the Class of 2020, for this first issue, we're going to answer questions we've received from the "early birds", prepping for their Seniors. So, let's go!...

STUDIO SHOTS - from Sue, Carmichael, CA...
Hello. My daughter Rachel and I looked through your website and love your senior portraits. But we both noticed almost all of the images seem to have been photographed outdoors. They're beautiful, and Rachel is excited about doing an outdoors session, but I'd still like to have a traditional, studio portrait to set on the wall alongside our other children's graduation portraits. Can we do both?

Sue...Absolutely. We actually have a portable studio we carry with us and can set up anywhere. A number of our Seniors (and Family) clients actually like to begin their Session in their own home, shooting the traditional poses and backgrounds. It takes about 20 minutes, and then they get into their next wardrobe change (always more comfy to do in your own bedroom!), and then we head off to our location shoot! So, yes. This is your Senior's session, and we will do everything we can to make it...perfect. Thanks for asking...

WARDROBE OPTIONS - from Danielle, Roseville, CA...
Your web site doesn't mention the number of clothing changes that can be made during the photo shoot. Can my daughter to a clothing change? And if so, more than one? And if so, is there an extra charge for each change?

Danielle...I'm sorry (to everyone) our web site isn't clear on more specific details, but I have found over the years that answering one question brings about four more, and the last thing either of us wants is to spend an entire day sending e-mails back and forth! Which is why I encourage everyone to call and...let's talk! That said...

I shoot only one session per day. Even if I am shooting a sunrise session, I don't shoot another at sunset. When we book a Session, we block off the entire day. For you. We make ourselves available to our Client for the entire day, because you may want to have your hair and make-up done before the shoot - and we want to capture that part of the experience. Or you may have a place on your high school campus you want to be photographed at, and a local park or other nearby location that has significant meaning to you. Or, you may have four outfits you want to be photographed in. This is your day. And we want to capture it all, in every outfit you want. Thanks for asking such a great question. It's one I know many Seniors and their parents have...

PRICING...from Cameron, Citrus Heights, CA...
I am a single father and this is my first child graduating. I need some guidance regarding pricing. My daughter and I have been looking through local photographers for two weeks. Your web site suggests you understand the cost concerns parents of Seniors have these days, but you don't offer any specifics. Why not and, can you give me a better idea of what this will cost me, out the door. I'm not looking for a $29.99 special, but, as your web site said (nice joke, by the way), I don't want to take out a second mortgage. Thank you in advance for any help you can render.

Cameron...Thank you SO much for asking this question. Yes, pricing is the always elephant in the room no one wants to talk about. Our pricing structure is simple, and affordable for everyone. Literally. We do have several packages and presentations; as it states on our web site, from under $300 to more than $3,000. The reason why we don't post everything with it's specific price on our web site it, with all of the options available, the options can become very overwhelming. Which is also why, we encourage either a telephone or an in-person consultation; so we can talk, I can get a better feel for how and where your Senior wants to be photographed; the kind of look you want in your Senior Portraits, and what these images may be used for. And, of course, we'll discuss all of the pricing options, and find or create the perfect package at the very best possible price that works best for you and your Senior.  Call me. 925.784.9989.  Let's talk!...

GROUP SESSIONS...from Jorene, Granite Bay, CA...
Mr. Jones, last year, a friend of my daughter had her Senior Portraits photographed as a part of one of your Group Sessions. It was all she or any of her friends talked about for months and the portraits I saw of her friend's were beautiful. Naturally, she and her friends want to do that kind of session this year. We went to look on your website and did not see those listed anywhere as an option. Please tell me that type of portrait session is still available and, if you could give me more details, that would be most appreciated. Thank you, Jorene...

Jorene...On Friday, the first day of Summer, we'll be publishing our 2019 Summer Magazine, and it will feature a n amazing, two-page spread, with a full run-down of all the information, particulars, tips, benefits, and some great images from past Group Sessions. So yes; these are my favorite, most fun, and memorable Senior Sessions to shoot, and we will be offering them as long as I am taking in air. Thanks!...
